Jefferson City - Today, the Supreme Court affirmed the freedom and right of law-abiding Americans to own firearms. And while today’s decision is an important victory for all Americans, it is a stark reminder of what is at stake in this election. From his support of the D.C. gun ban to his support of a federal law to pre-empt state conceal carry legislation, Barack Obama has spent much of his political career trying to undermine Americans’ 2 nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Obama’s stance on gun rights, abortion and the sanctity of marriage is a glaring reminder that he is out of step with Missourians. While Obama says Americans "cling" to guns and religion because of bitterness, John McCain understands that Missourians and most Americans cherish their freedoms.
