“The Hardest-Left Candidate Ever Nominated”

Jefferson City - Yesterday, Lt. Governor Kinder called Senator Obama “the hardest left candidate ever nominated for president of the United States,” Kinder went on to state, “His solution to every problem is bigger government and more and higher taxes.”

“Lt. Gov. Kinder’s comments touch on a few of the reasons why Sen. Obama is bad for Missouri, but there are many others. Sen. Obama is out of touch with almost every mainstream Missouri value,” said Tina Hervey, communications director, “Just a few weeks ago he claimed that Midwesterners are ‘bitter’ clinging to our ‘guns and religion’. This is just one of the many statements he’s made that proves his distance from the reality voters in Missouri face daily.”

Abortion is an example where Senator Obama is out of touch. The National Right to Life points out that Senator Obama voted against a partial-birth abortion ban in the Illinois Senate, voted against parental consent in the United States Senate, voted to weaken existing abortion restrictions at both the federal and state level, and supported taxpayer funding of abortions. Senator Obama even voted against a bill protecting unborn children who survived late-term abortions, a bill that even Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton and NARAL opposed. In fact, Obama stopped the Illinois state legislature from passing such legislation during his time in the state Senate.

Missourians will not support the most liberal member of the Senate for president - it’s plain and simple.
