McCaskill Grovels for Cash from Radical Pro-Abortion Group EMILY’s List

JEFFERSON CITY - Claire McCaskill’s desperate attempt to mislead Missourians about her liberal agenda has again been exposed. The extremist partial-birth abortion rights group EMILY’s List has repeatedly supported McCaskill by dumping thousands of dollars into her campaign coffers including money collected at a St. Louis fundraiser on Tuesday.

Pub Def reports that Ellen Malcolm, founder and president of EMILY’S list, was the special guest at a McCaskill fundraiser at the Moolah Theatre and Lounge in St. Louis. Earlier this year, Malcolm said she is one of McCaskill’s “biggest fans.” Support from such a radical group is at odds with the vast majority of Missourians who oppose partial-birth abortion.

The partial-birth abortion group’s financial support for McCaskill has been mind-blowing. According to records on file with the Federal Election Commission, EMILY’s List “bundled” $744,691 to McCaskill in special interest largesse since November 2005. Of the $744,691, only $28,065 or 3.8 percent came from Missourians.

“The vast majority of Missourians are opposed to abortion and they are not going to be fooled by Claire McCaskill who has tried for months to avoid questions about her votes and statements of support for partial-birth abortion, higher taxes and gay marriage,” said Paul Sloca, communications director for the Missouri Republican Party. “McCaskill has consistently tried to hide her liberal views from Missourians and this fundraiser is evidence that if elected she would be the radical left’s best friend in Washington.”
