McCaskill?s Excuses Spotlight Her Complete Incompetence for U.S. Senate

JEFFERSON CITY Political faxes are sent to state offices. Web site death threats against Sen. Jim Talent are ignored. Audit output plummets. Political vendettas are made against companies that won’t make contributions. A federal probe is launched into a previous campaign for governor. And Claire McCaskill wants the responsibility of being a U.S. Senator?

McCaskill has either blown off each blunder or flat refused to admit she was wrong. Note to McCaskill: Mistakes like these in the U.S. Senate can turn small problems into large problems which are evidence that she has no business trying to represent hardworking Missourians in the U.S. Senate.

The Associated Press reported yesterday that McCaskill’s Senate campaign faxed political materials to several state offices. McCaskill’s response: We didn’t mean to.

For four days in June, a death threat against Talent was allowed to remain on McCaskill’s web site until the senator’s campaign forced McCaskill to remove it. McCaskill’s response: We didn’t even know it was posted.

McCaskill completed work on just 33 audits last month, the second lowest total since her rookie year as state auditor. McCaskill’s response: Silence.

Two weeks ago, McCaskill attacked Tyson Foods and it was later revealed that the company had recently turned down her request for campaign contributions. McCaskill’s response: We didn’t know we asked for the money.

The Office of Special Counsel in Washington D.C. accuses Jackson County Sheriff Tom Phillips of asking employees to appear in a commercial for McCaskill when she was running for governor. McCaskill’s response: We thought they were volunteers.

“Claire McCaskill has an embarrassing excuse for everything which proves unequivocally that she is not ready for the U.S. Senate.  Missourians expect leadership from their U.S. Senators, not excuses,” said Paul Sloca, communications director for the Missouri Republican Party. “Jim Talent has a vision for Missouri while Claire McCaskill has practiced and perfected the art of excuse-making.”
