FBI Investigation Exposes Democrat LiesMissouri Democrats' lies about alleged wrongdoing in the Blunt administration, irresponsibly reported as fact by the liberal media, were exposed this week as a farce after the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas confirmed that the Democrat-prompted investigation found no wrongdoing in how state fee offices are awarded and operated in Missouri. Bud Cummins, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, concluded in a release that no indictments have been returned against Blunt administration officials or anyone else and that “at no time was Governor Blunt a target, subject, or witness in the investigation, nor was he implicated in any allegation being investigated” despite Democrat rumor-mongering and baseless innuendo reported as fact by major media outlets statewide. Missourians now know the true nature of the significant reforms instituted by Governor Blunt to improve our fee office system, including requiring business plans, extending service hours and enacting penalties for inaccurate reporting. Eighty military and consumer groups supported the measure. Senator Talent said, “This is a great day for military families in Missouri and throughout the country. We need to enact these new protections for our troops and their families because a growing predatory lending problem has impacted our operational readiness.” McCaskill Receives Illegal Support from Democrat PartyThe Missouri Democrat Party is illegally sending millions of pieces of mail on behalf of Claire McCaskill’s campaign to unsuspecting Missourians, according to a Federal Election Commission complaint filed by the Missouri Republican Party. Coordination between a political party and a federal candidate is permitted only for certain specific volunteer activities. Otherwise, such coordinated activities count as contributions to the candidate's campaign and are strictly limited by federal campaign finance law. The coordinated mail pieces being distributed by state Democrats show no evidence of volunteer involvement. The funds are part of the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas program, which helps to coordinate local, state and federal efforts to stop drug trafficking along interstates. Senator Bond said, “We can’t slow down, we can’t let up. We can’t let the meth-makers or dealers have any breathing room.” These funds will further the effectiveness of the Combat Meth Act, which was co-sponsored by Senator Talent and Senator Diane Feinstein and has been extremely successful in fighting methamphetamine use in our country. Top Ten CountiesWith only one month until the election, people are working hard across the state to make sure that Senator Jim Talent is re-elected and continues to represent our common sense Missouri values in Washington, DC. Congratulations to Jefferson and Cole County for making the Top 10 this week and thanks to everyone for all of their hard work.
