MOGOP Web Video: Jay Nixon: “No jobs. No plan. No leadership.”

June 19, 2012

The Missouri Republican Party today launched a new web video, “No jobs, no plan, no leadership,” highlighting Jay Nixon’s lack of a plan to deal with recently-enacted tax reforms in Kansas.

Watch the video:

The video comes just days after Nixon was asked about the new Kansas law and how his administration planned to react, but he admitted that “we haven’t spent a great deal of time talking about what they’ve done.”

The Kansas law is already beginning to have an effect.  According to one columnist for the Kansas City Star, “Already, my accountant friends’ phones are ringing off the hooks with Missourians considering a move of their small businesses to Kansas.”

Nixon’s failure to take the issue seriously will have a devastating effect on Missouri’s economy, which has already suffered from Nixon’s lack of leadership—losing 7,300 jobs in May, stalled at .04% economic growth in 2011, and ranking 2nd-worst-in-the-nation in job creation in 2011.

“Jay Nixon has no plan to deal with this grave threat to Missouri’s economy and our job creators.  Sadly, this is par for the course for Nixon, who once claimed that he’s ‘not the lobbyist for the state,’” said Lloyd Smith, Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party. “We need a governor who will aggressively lobby for our state and our workers every day and who will not settle for the failing status quo.”
