MOGOP Chairman: The private sector is not doing “fine”
June 8, 2012
Just one week after the release of a dismal jobs report, President Obama declared that “the private sector is doing fine.” MOGOP Chairman David Cole responded to the president’s remarks:
“Barack Obama has been one of the most anti-business president in history, and the results speak for themselves: more than 23 million Americans are unemployed, underemployed, or have simply given up looking for work, new unemployment claims have jumped, consumer confidence is suffering, and just last week, we saw yet another dismal jobs report. The fact that Barack Obama believes that the private sector is doing ‘fine’ shows just how out-of-touch he really is.
“We need a president who understands what it takes to create jobs and who will work every day to cut excessive government spending, reduce the debt, eliminate unnecessary red tape, and get rid of burdensome regulations. We need a president who doesn’t believe that 23 million struggling Americans are ‘fine,’ but one who will restore economic freedom and allow job creators to do what they do best: get Americans back to work.”
