The Missouri GOP congratulates Roy Blunt, Republican nominee for U.S. Senate
August 3, 2010
David Cole, Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party, issued the following statement on Roy Blunt’s Republican primary victory in the race for United States Senate:
“Missourians from across the state went to the polls and selected Roy Blunt to carry the Republican banner in the November election for United States Senate. The Missouri Republican Party congratulates Mr. Blunt on his victory, and we look forward to a vigorous campaign—because the stakes couldn’t be higher.
“Roy Blunt will be a voice for the overwhelming number of Missourians who are standing up and saying ‘NO’ to Washington, but Robin Carnahan is one of Barack Obama’s ‘favorite people’ because she will rubberstamp the reckless liberal agenda. In fact, Carnahan has rubberstamped every major component of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda, from the federal takeover of health care to the failed stimulus bill to the job-killing cap-and-tax legislation, among many others.
“By contrast, Roy Blunt has distinguished himself as a tireless advocate for the common-sense values that Missourians care about, focusing on the need for job creation and halting Washington’s out-of-control spending.
“Over the next three months, Missourians will be presented with a clear choice and will coalesce around the conservative candidates. We expect that voters will stand up, as they have over the past 18 months, and send Washington a message by rejecting the Obama-Reid-Carnahan agenda.”
