Suburban Journals: Thousands gather to oppose president's health plan

Organizers say more than 2,000 people were packed into the St. Charles Convention Center Wednesday morning to rally against President Obama’s healthcare reform plan.

The rally was being held a few hours before President Barack Obama flew into town for a speech at St. Charles High School about healthcare reform.

Obama and proponents say the healthcare reform is necessary to keep premiums from spiraling. Republicans say the plan, which would require coverage of millions more Americans, puts undue burdens on insurance companies and small businesses.
