Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Robin Carnahan In Seattle stop

A political battle of Missouri family dynasties featured a Seattle stopover Thursday night as Democratic Senate candidate, Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, stopped in Seattle to raise campaign cash.

Carnahan’ grandfather was a congressman from the “Show Me” state. Father Mel Carnahan was governor, mother Jean Carnahan served two years in the Senate, and brother Russ Carnahan is in the House.

She is running for the seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Kit Bond. In a year when Democrats fear losing seats in Congress’ upper chamber, Carnahan represents their best opportunity for a pickup.

“This is a place where we get to play offense this year,” Carnahan joked here.
