Missouri GOP Women's Summit a huge success

October 26, 2009

More than 250 women from across the state attended the first Missouri Republican Women’s Leadership Conference, and the event was an unqualified success.

Speakers included Liz Cheney, former State Department official, Jan Larimer, Co-Chairman of the Republican National Committee, and Catherine Hanaway, the former U.S. Attorney for Missouri’s Eastern District and the first female Speaker of the House in Missouri history.

Attendees brought canned goods to be donated to a local food bank, the Samaritan Center in Jefferson City.  As we approach winter and the Christmas season, their generosity will make a difference for struggling families in central Missouri.

This is the first of many steps the Missouri Republican Party will take to increase the participation of conservative women in the state—allowing us to better attract, connect, and mobilize women to work on campaigns or run for office.

We would especially like to thank the Teenage Republicans, College Republicans, Young Republicans, and the Missouri Federation of Republican Women for their help in making this event successful.
