How Much Would You Sell American Democracy For?
October 17, 2008
Jefferson City – Yesterday it was revealed that Sam Page, Democrat candidate for Lt. Gov., received a $10,000 contribution from a foreign company – a violation of a federal law banning foreign political donations.
“By taking these foreign contributions, Sam Page has violated our American system of Democracy by allowing foreigners to pollute its integrity,” said Tina Hervey communications director of Missouri Republican Party. “A so-called clerical error doesn’t excuse one from breaking the law. We also have to wonder what Dr. Page got in return after receiving contributions from a foreign medical supply company.”
Sam Page’s financial contribution report shows that he has sold Missouri values to Waverly Glen, a medical supplies company in Vaughan, Ontario, for $10,000. With his decision to pollute and corrupt the process is very sad and dirty. Missourians should not vote for someone who encourages corruption. Whoever you vote for should be clean, trustworthy and dedicated to serving Missourians, clearly Sam Page is not that person.
