The Same Old Jay Nixon

September 12, 2008

Jefferson City – After three years of running a campaign steeped in mud-slinging and ruthless attacks, yesterday during the first of six gubernatorial debates, Jay Nixon reaffirmed that he wants to continue the same old failed policies of the past.

“After being in Jefferson City for 22 years it is laughable to believe that Jay Nixon would embody anything else but the failed policies of the past that left Missouri’s families in a tenuous position – his brand of leadership is grounded in incompetence and irresponsibility,” said Tina Hervey, communications director of the Missouri Republican Party. “Known for nothing more than a 22-year career of a self-promotion , Jay Nixon is in an unenviable position. Missourians know that he is out of touch and that he lacks original ideas and has begun to recycle the old failed policies of the past – it is no wonder Nixon refuses to participate in prime-time debates where Missourians would be able to see the stark contrast between himself and Kenny Hulshof.”

Kenny Hulshof is offering a positive vision for Missouri and his long record of accomplishment demonstrates that he has improved people’s lives. He has the know-how and vision to affect positive change rather than turning the clock back to billion dollar deficits and failed healthcare policies. Hulshof’s experience and leadership will continue to move Missouri forward and the voters of this state understand that.
